The weekend could not have been more exciting in Espoo, where the 2020 Finnish Nationals took place from February 29 to March 1. Second after the short program, Helsinki Rockettes won the Senior National title and skated their way to the Worlds. Team Fintastic won the Junior competition which was extremely tight.
The first day at Finnish Nationals has been really tight, exciting and full of powerful performances. On Saturday, the Senior and Junior teams have performed impressive short programs in Espoo Metro Arena. The Novice competition was also skated on Saturday.
This was an incredible weekend for Team Mystique! The little sisters of Team Unique won the third Finnish qualification for Juniors. The team will represent Finland as Team FIN1 at the Worlds Junior Synchronized Skating Championship 2020 in Nottingham, United Kingdom in March. Even after a difficult short program this weekend, Team Fintastic will be FIN2.
Best Junior teams from Finland compete for access to the World Championships this weekend. Teams skated their short programs on Saturday and both record points and failures were seen. Team Mystique is currently leading the competition.
This coming weekend there will be the synchronized skating 2nd Interclub-level qualification competition and the Junior ISU qualification for the World Championships arranged in Helsinki Finland. The five best Junior teams of this season participate in this competition.
Finnish teams kept dominating the fourth Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland. On Sunday, the ISU categories Senior, Junior and Advanced Novices skated their free programs. Finland took eight medals of nine. In the Interclub competition, it was turn of Juvenile B, Basic Novices and Mixed Age to compete
Helsinki Rockettes kept the leading position in Seniors on Sunday and was the winner of those second Finnish qualifications, by earning 215.46 total scores. In the Juniors, Team Mystique won the thrilling competition with 115.75 points. Finettes got the gold medal in the Novice category with 82.41 points.
The Second Finnish Qualifications for Synchronized Skating teams are held in Lahti this weekend. Helsinki Rockettes are leading in Seniors. In Juniors' category Team Mystique took the first place but is followed by two teams within a point. Team Dynamique won the first section of Novice teams.
Beaches, sun and summer temperature... The California Cup warmed synchro skaters last weekend, who were rather accustomed to the cold rinks. This first edition pleased many athletes who performed their programs and took advantage of the sun to recharge their batteries. Here are their reactions!
The results are in for the California Cup which was an exciting start to the ISU Challenger Series. The energy in the crowd was ecstatic throughout the entire event. The gold medals went to Team Mystique and Helsinki Rockettes, both from Finland.
The first ISU Challenger Series competition, California Cup, is taking place in Irvine, California, USA. Teams from the United States, Canada, Finland, and Australia are a part of the inaugural event.
There was no doubt of the winners in Seniors on Sunday, when Team Unique got 139.94 points from their free program and earned total scores 216.69. In the Junior category, Team Fintastic also kept the leading position and won the competition with 182.39 points. For the Novices division (second segment), Team Dynamique got the gold medal with 73.88.
