Juvenile
In many categories of the Budapest Cup, top teams were close, and the Juvenile category with seven teams was no exception.

The top four teams' score difference was less than a point. Despite skaters’ falls, winner Hungarian Team UTE Synchro (39.92) won the game by a tiny margin against Czech Team Bublinky (39.44), Hungarian Team Pingvin (39.32) and Hungarian Team Magic (39.15). Team UTE Synchro has the highest technical score, but judges gave the first to third runners-up higher Program Component scores.

Mixed Age
In the Mixed Age category, there were 11 teams consisting of Finnish, Hungarian and Polish skaters.

Even against three teams of skilled Finnish skaters, the Hungarian team Frostwork (72.15) secured a silver medal, only losing to champion Team Altius (79.75). The two other Finnish teams, Les Miracles (71.48) and Team Estrella (69.21), ranked third and fourth, respectively.

These four teams all skated clean with no falls.

ISU Junior Free Skate
After the Short Program, medals were still very open for Junior teams to grab, and so it got particularly thrilling for skaters and spectators.

Despite the mounting pressure, the American Teams Elite Junior (SP: 74.54, FS: 127.68, total: 202.22) once again performed perfectly and defended their lead for the gold medal.  Although Finnish Team Fintastic (SP: 73.06, FS: 127.33, total: 200.39) achieved almost as much as the Americans for the Free Skate, they were not able to make up for the shortfall from Short Program and lost to the rival Finns Dream Edges Junior (SP: 73.97, FS: 126.71, total: 200.68) who brought home with the silver medal.

The competition was exciting with a total of fifteen junior teams taking part.

As the curtain is drawn...
Both the organizing committee and many spectators have indicated their eagerness for the Budapest Cup 2024 since it was last held in 2019. Indeed it proved itself to be a highly awe-inspiring event for many, particularly to many top-performing teams who competed very keenly over the long weekend.

The ISU teams will continue their fight in the next Challenger Series event with Trophy d'Ecosse.
