Italy: The season has started with the traditional Trento Cup
Hot Shivers Junior - Short Program
In the astonishing city of Trento, set in a glacial valley guarded by the peaks of The Brenta Dolomites, took place from 9 to 11 Nov 2018 the Trento Cup 2018 Synchro Interclub/international Competition for Senior, Junior, and Advanced Novice teams. This competition is very important because it allows teams belonging to the national categories to be able to take part in International ISU calendar competition.
JUNIOR
The competition started on Saturday afternoon with the Junior category composed of four teams.
Hot Shivers, the Italian champion, skated well-balanced programs, with an interesting intersection. The team won the competition with a great total score of 119, 35. Runner-up team Shining Blades earned 90,91 points. As usual, they skated with speed and presented clear elements.
Flying Angels had some trouble in the short program with the Moves Element and had a deduction of 1.50 but they obtained the third position after the free programs skating on the music of "The Greatest Showman" earning 76,13 total points.
Ice Diamonds from Chiavenna had two falls in the free program and ended in the fourth position. The team had some problems recently due to the weather and hadn’t the possibility to practice in the best conditions.
SENIOR
In the Senior category, the host team Ice on Fire, champion of the Mixed Age Trophy of the last season, skated two elegant programs with beautiful lifts and closed with 107,48 points. The winner of the competition, Hot Shivers skated on the music of “La Strada” by Nino Rota. The interpretation of the theme and the poetry choreography expressed the feeling of a music funny and sad all at once.
ADVANCED NOVICE
Also in this category, Hot Shivers didn’t fail in the first position with a total of 44,86 points. Sixteen young skaters, dressed in nice costumes presented a good program, skating with determination and speed. The other one team, Shining Blades, with a score of 40,20 points, presented a program on the music of "Wonder Woman". They skate well, but the team must now check the program because an element was not permitted. During the competition, they lost 1.50 points.
All the teams have now time to improve their programs before the next Italian competition that will be held in Rome mid-December.
