Junior Worlds 2023: Here Are The Participating Teams! (1/2)

The World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2023 will be held this weekend in Angers, western France. Get ready for this great event by knowing better the participating teams.

Let's start with the Australian team, Majestic Ice Junior. Based in Sydney, this team is already in Europe for several days. After Hungary and Austria, Majestic Ice went to Switzerland, where they took part in the Swiss Cup, finishing 4th. This season, Team Australia, coached by Madonna Randall and Elizabeth Mayers, will present a short program to Demi Lovato and Co's "Confident" and a free program to Top Gun. Majestic Ice last competed at the World Junior Championships in 2028, finishing 17th.

Time for Austria with its representative, Team Colibris Vienna Junior! The Sabine Konrath and Susanna Konrath team finished 10th at the Mozart Cup 2023. They will also skate to "Confident" by Demi Lovato for the short program.

A big country with great skaters. Two teams will skate under the Canadian colors.
Les Suprêmes Junior, who are Canadian vice-champions, Spring Cup and Leon Lurje Trophy vice-champions this season. The team of Marilyn Langlois, Pascal Denis and Laurie Désilets will present Carmen in the short program and "The Maze" in the free program.

Nexxice Junior, 2023 Canadian Champions, will also be competing. Winner of the Hevelius Cup and 3rd at the Spring Cup this year, the Ontario team is coached by Patricia Perdue-Mills and Julia Mills-Bolton and skates about 12 hours a week during the high season.

Team CroatiaLes Suprêmes Junior, who are Canadian vice-champions, Spring Cup and Leon Lurje Trophy vice-champions this season. The team of Marilyn Langlois, Pascal Denis and Laurie Désilets will present Carmen in the short program and "The Maze" in the free program.

Coached by Natasa Bahat in Zagreb, the Zagreb Snowflakes Junior will skate to Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede Shoes" on the first day, and the next day they will present their version of "Circus" by Cirque du Soleil. 21 skaters make up the team this year.

Team Harmonia Junior has been training for many months in Prague for this event. With a short program called "Pentatonix Medley" and a long program to Grease, the team is determined to reach the 11th place obtained in 2020. And why not aim for the top 10?

This country is used to medals at the World Championships and is coming to France with two strong teams ready to do anything to come back with the title.
First of all, Team Fintastic, the 2022 Junior World Champions, won everything this season: the Neuchâtel Trophy, the Leon Lurje Trophy, the Finnish qualifications and, of course, the national championship! A perfect season that should result with a gold medal at the Worlds. But who knows? Laura Spiridovitsh's team will skate "Human - The world within" for the free program and "Thunderbird" for the short program.

Black Diam's from Compiègne will represent France. Coached by Vincent Gironde and Laetitia Carrez Gironde, the team had not participated in the Worlds since 2015, when it finished 16th. For the short program, the skaters will present "Bohemian Rapshody" by Queen and Freddy Mercury, and the free program pays tribute to France.

The team that will represent Great Britain comes from Dumfries and is coached by Philip Carter. Solway Stars Junior became the first-ever Scottish team to win the Junior ISU British Championship last season. This is the first time this team will compete at Worlds.

Team Berlin Junior is making its return to the Worlds after its last participation in 2020 where they finished 14th. The team of Marco Derpa and Vanessa Henke-Hahn finished 5th at the Cup of Neuss and 8th at the Mozart Cup this season.

For its first participation in the World Championships, Team UTE Synchro Junior will skate "Schindlers List" in the short program and "Moulin Rouge" for the free program. Coached by Ilona Berecz and Noemi Szucsne Vedres, the team comes from Budapest.
