Team Unique and Team Mystique are leading Finland's first qualification competition in Helsinki

The entire ice rink rejoiced along with the skaters when this competition with 39 teams was finally allowed to take place on Saturday. One of the happiest was Mirjami Penttinen, the coach of Team Unique (HSK) and Team Mystique (HSK): “I have secretly hoped for the last 21 years that both my teams would be winners in the same competition. Now it came true”. Team Finettes (HTK) won the Novice competition on Saturday. The second group of Novices will skate on Sunday.
Team Unique (HSK) succeeded wonderfully in their emotional program “Merci”. In particular, their No Hold element went smoothly and was full of touching interpretations. Team Unique gathered 75,43 points and is leading the competition.
Marigold IceUnity (HL) got second place. Their peaceful program “Nordic Spirit” was already admired last season, and this time they skated it perfectly and earned 72,92 points.

The third place went to the Helsinki Rockettes (HTK). Their seductive performance fit the theme “Femme Fatale brilliantly”. There was one fall in the intersection, so the panel gave them a total score of 71.30.
The newcomer team Dream Edges Senior (Kaari) succeeded splendidly, had an astounding speed in their program “Prodigy,” and with 66.19 points got fourth place. Lumineers (ESS) had one unlucky fall in the No Hold Element, but otherwise, they skated beautifully. Their program “Dance Macabre” got points 62.93 and fifth place.

Junior Short Program
Team Mystique's (HSK) skated to the theme "Last Breath of Winter". They really matched it perfectly. Their glide was like a breath of wind, and their light grey dresses with frosty-like decorations fit the program perfectly. The team is leading the Junior competition with 64.60 points.
Even though the team Dream Edges Junior (Kaari) had rejuvenated considerably, it had maintained its good level. They skated to an old touching spiritual song, "A child's road in the wilderness of the earth" (unofficial translation). They were second, earning a total score of 62.06.

Musketeers (HL) had a completely different vibe in their entertaining and fast-paced program “Light at the end of Tunnel”. Their points of 61.07 brought them to third place.
Not far behind is Valley Bay Syncro (EsJt) with 60,76 points and Team Fintastic (HTK) 60,32 points, so the free program competition on Sunday evening will be extremely exciting!
Fourteen junior teams in total are competing this weekend.

In the Novice category, Team Finettes (HTK) won the competition with 87.88 points. Their program was an interpretation of the diary of a young Jewish girl.
Starlights (HL) took the silver medal with their "Desert Spirits" program, earning 84.53 points. Diamond Edges (Kaari) was third. Their mysterious program "Ouija" brought them 66.53 points.
This first group included ten Novice teams in total. Nine more will skate on Sunday afternoon and present their free programs.

The competition day on Saturday was pure joy for the audience. They got to enjoy great performances and stunning costumes.
