Les Suprêmes Junior, 2024 World Champions, began their season in mid-November at the Championnats de la section Québec 2026, where they earned 65.99 points in the short program and 113.81 in the free, for a total of 179.80.

“We are doing great! Everyone’s excited, progressing well, and working hard on our programs. We can’t wait to compete and show what we’ve been working on,” say Les Suprêmes Junior about their mindset entering the season.

The athletes from Montreal describe a tight, motivated group: “We are really determined and all on the same page. We love to laugh and joke around together, but we’re also very hardworking both on and off the ice.” Depth has increased this year with twelve new skaters, supported by four weekly sessions combining on-ice training, strength, ballet, and acrobatics.

A program about identity and liberation
The short program tells a narrative of self-discovery: “This season, our short program tells a very personal story of identity and liberation… we start the performance hidden behind a mask… a moment of provocation and internal struggle leads to a powerful transformation, where we literally and symbolically ‘rip off the mask’.” The contrasting music by Vivaldi and Kevin Olusola reinforces this internal tension.

The free program takes a cinematic turn, beginning with Charleston-era energy: “It all starts with a surge of inspiration… a journey through the very essence of storytelling.”

Among their favourite moments on the ice, the skaters highlight the no-hold section of the free program, noting the precision of the steps and the strong musical energy that drives the sequence. Technically, the most demanding element remains the short program’s whip intersection, largely due to its intricate and challenging entry.

The team also includes this season one international athlete from France, along with four other skaters originating from Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. As for their objectives this season, the athletes emphasize a simple and sincere approach: enjoying the process, focusing on their own development, and building stronger performances while creating new memories together.

First competition in Quebec
At the Québec Sectionals in Saint-Marie-de-Beauce, the team translated these concepts into competition, earning 65.99 (SP) and 113.81 (FP).

After the event, they reacted on social media: “What an amazing first competition weekend! We are super proud of both our performances... motivated and ready to keep working hard as we prepare for our upcoming competition in Woodstock!”
