Previously competing in the Mixed Age category, Team Colibris made its first steps in the Junior division this weekend. With a total of 69.04 points, the first junior synchronized skating team in Vienna got encouraging scores for its first competition. The goal of this team is to be able to represent Austria at the Junior Worlds in the next years.
As in Junior's field, the Senior division had only one participating team.
Coached by Julia Kiefer and Veronika Scholze, team Sweet Mozart skated their new short program "The Sound of Music". They reached a level four for the angled intersection element but had a few difficulties with it. In the free skate, the Austrian put out a clean skate with a couple of bumps.
"We earned the title once again, but more importantly we made our dreams come true: Lake Placid, here we come!" commented the team after the performances.
Team Sweet Mozart, that also benefited from the former Nexxice skater’s Kristen Loritz advice, qualified for the World Championships 2020 in the USA and will represent Austria.
