Four teams from North America will fly to the 2022 World Junior Championships in exactly one month. After being cancelled in 2021 due to Covid, this major event will take place from March 17 to 19 in the capital of Tyrol, in the Alps.
Teams USA
One team is the Skyliners Junior from SC of New York. Mozart Cup, Boston Classic, Synchronized Fall Classic... the skaters have won everything this season! The team coached by Josh Babb has also medaled twice at the last Junior Worlds, winning silver in 2018 and bronze in 2019.
Teams Elite (Northbrook, Illinois) has also been selected by U.S. Figure Skating and competing in their first Junior World Championships. This talented young team won the French Cup in early February!
U.S. Figure Skating explained that these two teams were also named in 2020 but withdrew due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Team Image was named as the first alternate, while the second alternate team will be announced at the conclusion of the 2022 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Colorado Springs," said the federation.

Teams Canada
Two teams also received their ticket to the Junior Worlds this week on the Canadian side.
Les SuprĂȘmes Juniors from Saint-LĂ©onard (QuĂ©bec) are familiar with the World Juniors. Indeed, the team has participated in the past few years. The last time was in 2020 in Nottingham, where the skaters coached by Marilyn Langlois finished 6th.
Nexxice from Burlington, Ontario, will be the other team representing Canada. "We are honoured to have been selected," the team commented on Instagram. At the last Worlds in 2020, Nexxice junior finished 5th.
These World Championships will mark the comeback of the Canadian teams on the international scene, as they have been away from international events for almost two years. Gold Ice Junior and Golding Ice Junior were selected to be the alternate teams.
