A few days before the Senior World Championships to be held this weekend in Canada, the International Skating Union (ISU) updated the list of events for the 2022-2023 season on Tuesday.
Five competitions now appear on the calendar for the Synchronized Skating Challenger Series. Selected by the ISU as major events for ISU teams to earn points, these stages will take place in Europe and North America.
Here they are:
- Challenger Series Stage 1: Brampton, Canada - Date: December 9, 2022
- Challenger Series Stage 2: Neuchâtel, Switzerland - Date: January 13-15, 2023
- Challenger Series Stage 3: Salzburg, Austria - Date: January 19-21, 2023
- Challenger Series stage 4: Gothenburg, Sweden - Date: January 27-29, 2023
- Challenger Series stage 5: Milan, Italy - Date: February 17-19, 2023
Like last season, January will be a busy month for the Challenger Series with three events taking place within a week of each other.
In addition, the ISU reminds us that the 2023 Junior Worlds are scheduled to be held in Angers, France in mid-March, while the 2023 Senior Worlds will be held in Lake Placid, USA, from March 31 to April 1.
In 2024, the Senior World Championships should be held in Zagreb, Croatia.
