2020-21: These synchro programs that you don't know yet

North wind, goddesses, magical creatures, or even immersion in a strange reality... The Seniors and Juniors teams from Finland will compete this weekend in Tampere at the first national qualifiers of the season. Before seeing them on the ice, discover the themes of their new programs this season!


Senior teams in Finland are staying focused on their training

If we look at the Finnish teams, it seems that everything has been back to normal. No masks in training, no social distancing... but the four Senior ISU teams remain cautious and take nothing for granted, especially for international events. Let's take stock of their preparation!

Team Lumineers awarded for the "most stylish synchro costume of the season"

The Senior team Lumineers has received a special distinction from the National Finnish Federation. The coaches Liisa Lakela and Maikki Merilehto, with the help of Henriikka Latva, have designed a simple and stylish costume for the free program "Swipe Right".

Helsinki Rockettes skated to a narrow lead over Team Unique and won the Nationals

The weekend could not have been more exciting in Espoo, where the 2020 Finnish Nationals took place from February 29 to March 1. Second after the short program, Helsinki Rockettes won the Senior National title and skated their way to the Worlds. Team Fintastic won the Junior competition which was extremely tight.


After the Short Programs, everything is still possible at the Finnish Nationals

The first day at Finnish Nationals has been really tight, exciting and full of powerful performances. On Saturday, the Senior and Junior teams have performed impressive short programs in Espoo Metro Arena. The Novice competition was also skated on Saturday.

Leon Lurje Trophy 2020: The Personal Best Scores Edition!

On Saturday, Seniors and Juniors performed their free skating programs in Gothenburg, Sweden. Team Paradise and Team Sunrise 1 from Russia won the categories. Advanced Novices’ competition began and Team Sunrise 2 from Russia leads clearly. Leon Lurje Trophy 2020 was also the opportunity for many teams to set a new personal record!

Leon Lurje Trophy, which is one of four competitions in the ISU Challenger Series, is arranged in Gothenburg, Sweden this weekend. Seniors and Juniors performed their short programs on Friday. Team Paradise is leading in Seniors and Crystal Ice Junior holds the first place in Juniors.

A fully and emotional weekend in Finland with the Second Qualifications

Helsinki Rockettes kept the leading position in Seniors on Sunday and was the winner of those second Finnish qualifications, by earning 215.46 total scores. In the Juniors, Team Mystique won the thrilling competition with 115.75 points. Finettes got the gold medal in the Novice category with 82.41 points.

The Second Finnish Qualifications for Synchronized Skating teams are held in Lahti this weekend. Helsinki Rockettes are leading in Seniors. In Juniors' category Team Mystique took the first place but is followed by two teams within a point. Team Dynamique won the first section of Novice teams.

The gold medals went to Finland at California Cup 2019

The results are in for the California Cup which was an exciting start to the ISU Challenger Series. The energy in the crowd was ecstatic throughout the entire event. The gold medals went to Team Mystique and Helsinki Rockettes, both from Finland.

California Cup 2019: USA claimed the gold medals in the Short Programs

The first ISU Challenger Series competition, California Cup, is taking place in Irvine, California, USA. Teams from the United States, Canada, Finland, and Australia are a part of the inaugural event.

Thrilling Competitions at Finnish First Qualifications

There was no doubt of the winners in Seniors on Sunday, when Team Unique got 139.94 points from their free program and earned total scores 216.69. In the Junior category, Team Fintastic also kept the leading position and won the competition with 182.39 points. For the Novices division (second segment), Team Dynamique got the gold medal with 73.88.
