Team Unity and Iceskateers Elite defend their titles at the Australian Championships

O'Brien Icehouse in Melbourne hosted 647 skaters across 44 different teams from all across Australia and New Zealand for the Australian Figure Skating Championships. Team Unity reclaimed victory in the Senior division for the third year in a row, while Iceskateers Elite and Iceskateers stood on top of the podium for Junior and Advanced Novice for their second consecutive years respectively.

Different synchro clubs meet in their last competitions before Nationals. Several events took place recently in Australia, as in Queensland State.

Macquarie Ice Rink hosted the first competition of the Australian synchro calendar, Sydney Synch Festival, on Saturday August 30th and Sunday September 1st, welcoming many new and returning teams across 9 different divisions.

The Australian National Championships took place last weekend in Iceworld Boondall, a northern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland. Around 40 synchro teams competed and try to bring home a medal. That's a record.

With a narrow lead, Paradise confirm their World title

And the gold... for Team Paradise! The Russian team won on Saturday night the ISU Seniors World Synchronized Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, USA. The Finnish Marigold Ice Unity took the silver medal at a few tenths of a point and the Canadian Nexxice received the bronze.

Paradise, MIU and Rockettes on the provisional World podium

The ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships opened this Friday in Colorado Springs (USA) and the 24 participating teams presented their short programs on Friday evening. Team Paradise (RUS) is currently first, Marigold Ice Unity and Rockettes from Finland are respectively ranked second and third.

Relive the Nationals in Australia

Melbourne hosted the Australian Figure Skating Championships Synchronised Events last weekend from 25-27 November 2016.  The O’Brien Group Arena, home of the Olympic Winter Institute, was at maximum capacity with large crowds supporting all events. Teams from every State and New Zealand attended.
