    "I am a former synchro skater on the Czech team Starlets, where I spent all 12 years of my skating 'career'. I had to stop skating when I moved to the UK to study at the University of Oxford but I remained a loyal supporter of the sport and kept following competitions, teams, and all other news about it. Since I could not skate with a team anymore, I dabbled into a new sport and have begun fencing at university. I am a big fan of film and TV so you're most likely to find me watching my favourite shows and films in the free time I have. "


    What does synchronized skating mean to you?

    "Synchro is the cherished memory of early mornings on the ice, even though I hate getting up early, it is the warm feeling of a job well done, and it will always have a very special place in my heart."

COVID-19: Ice rinks closing for 2 weeks in the Czech Republic

The Czech government has imposed new restrictions, closing all indoor sports spaces, including ice rinks. Czech synchro teams will now only be allowed to train outside, or individually at home.

Live performance on roller skates: "This was a bit of a challenge!"

A synchro skater from the Czech team Olympia, Kája Procházková, took part in a live charity cultural event organised by the Police Symphony Orchestra [Police is a town in north-eastern Bohemia, ed.]. As a part of the event, she skated a solo performance on roller skates accompanied by the orchestra.
