April 7 and 8, 2023 will be important dates to book in your calendars!!

The ISU on Monday published a summary of the various bids to host the World Synchronized Skating Championships for the 2022/2023 season.

If for the junior world championships nothing has yet been fixed, for the seniors, two countries are fighting to obtain this event.

Two countries in the race
In France, the city of Lyon is a candidate to organize this major competition in 2023, indicates the ISU. It would be the second time for France, which has already held a Senior ISU Synchronized Skating World Championships in 2002 in Rouen.

France is well known to synchro fans because of the famous French Cup which is held every year at the beginning of February.

The other country that could get this important event in 2023: the United States. The ISU notes that the competition could be organized in Lake Placid (as planned in April 2020 but which was canceled due to COVID19) or in Las Vegas.

So, the USA or France? The ISU will decide in the coming months, hoping that by then the coronavirus will be completely gone.

As a reminder, the 2021 Senior World Synchronized Skating Championships will take place in Zagreb (CRO), then in Hamilton, Canada in 2022.
