Although they left Helsinki without a medal, Les Suprêmes Senior (CAN) have secured their place in synchronized skating history. With three consecutive world titles from 2022 to 2024, the Canadian champions have left a lasting mark on the sport. Interview upon their return from Finland.

What stands out the most from your experience at this year’s World Championships in Finland?
Les Suprêmes Senior : "The crowd was full and amazing! They supported and gave us energy throughout both performances. Being surrounded by so many people who share our love for synchro is something we will never forget. We also want to thank every volunteer who made the event possible, everyone was very helpful and kind throughout the week."
How did you feel performing your programs on the ice in Helsinki?
"Unfortunately our short program didn't go as we hoped and trained for. We had a rough start with falls in the first 2 elements, however we fought until the end of our program and are happy to have still got all our calls! We skated our free program as we do in practice and will never forget how fun it was. We're also very proud to have earned a small bronze medal for our free skate!"

Is there a highlight or memorable moment from Helsinki 2025 that you won’t forget?
"Our free program performance is one we will never forget! As Chris Howarth from the ISU commentary team noted after our skate "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Despite the disappointment we felt after our short program, we worked together and gave it everything we had."
What do you think was the team’s greatest improvement this season?
"This season, we tried to innovate and push the boundaries in both of our programs. It wasn't always easy, but we're extremely proud of how our programs grew throughout the season and the final product we showed. We also worked a lot on our interpretation and we hope the audience was able to feel something during our skates."

After winning three consecutive gold medals, how are you feeling today?
"We're extremely proud of being the first senior team to win 3 consecutive world titles. We've experienced many challenges and obstacles along the way, but each of them shaped us into the team we are today. Every Suprêmes skater, both past and present, contributed to where we are today. And of course, none of it would be possible without our amazing coaches, intervenants, chaperones, and families."
What are your next goals?
"This month we'll be performing at a few shows, which is always super fun! It's an amazing opportunity for us to promote our discipline in other clubs and meet skaters. We also have a few weeks off to rest and recover both mentally and physically before attacking the new season."

Do you have a message for your fans and supporters in Canada and around the world?
"Your love and support means the world to us! Thank you for being there for us through our highs and lows, and motivating us to be the best we can be. Throughout every performance, we want you to feel something and to have as much fun watching as we have skating."
And now, what are your plans for the summer and next season?
"We begin the new season in May where we start by perfecting our skating skills and developing new skills. The summer months are used for choreographing our programs and exploring new ideas. Our goal for next season is to work hard and come back stronger than ever."
