U.S. teams dominate Hevelius Cup 2025 in Poland

The Hevelius Cup 2025, held at the Olivia Ice Rink in Gdansk, Poland, saw American teams leading the Senior and Junior categories, with Canadian teams securing silver and bronze in the Junior division, and Germany earning a bronze in the Senior category.
Six teams competed in the Senior ISU category, but Hayden Select (USA) dominated the event with two clean performances, delivering strong technical execution and seamless choreography to claim gold with 182.13 points. Their fellow American team, Teams Elite (USA), also delivered two solid programs to take the silver medal with 178.62 points.
Team Berlin 1 (GER), after a fifth-place finish at the Dresden Cup 2025, improved to third place in Gdansk. Their short program to The Code by Felix Jaehn and free program to Tango by Gabriel Saban captivated the audience, though a fall in the twizzle element of their free skate impacted their score. They secured bronze with 176.08 points.
Northernettes take the crownTeam Berlin 1 (GER), after a fifth-place finish at the Dresden Cup 2025, improved to third place in Gdansk. The Junior event also saw a strong American presence, with the Northernettes (USA) claiming gold after two well-skated, clean programs. Their performance quality and technical consistency earned them a total score of 177.94 points, a major improvement from their fifth-place finish at the Mozart Cup.
Ice Ignite (CAN), from Ilderton, Ontario, coached by Sheri and Cara Moir, won the free skate but finished second overall with 176.21 points. Gold Ice (CAN), hailing from Brampton, Ontario, completed the podium with 167.28 points. A total of 14 teams were competing in this division.

In the Advanced Novice category, Team Energy (FIN), coached by Outi Jokinen, delivered a powerful performance to The Hunger Games soundtrack, securing the gold medal. Team Ice Fire Novice (POL), from Gda?sk and trained by Marcin Miedlarz and Gabriela Zielinska, impressed on home ice to take silver. Team Diamonds (EST), representing Tallinn, earned the bronze with their program to All We Got by Fergie.
Although the Hevelius Cup was not part of the Challenger Series this season, it provided a valuable opportunity for talented teams to showcase their skills outside of the prestigious circuit.
The competition saw strong performances from emerging and established teams alike, with several squads delivering impressive results and taking home well-deserved medals.
