Les Suprêmes shine at Canadian Nationals, setting a Junior record

Les Suprêmes left their mark at the Canadian National Synchronized Skating Championships this weekend at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, with dominant performances in both the Senior and Junior ISU categories. The reigning world champions clinched another Senior title, while their Junior counterparts set a new Canadian record.

"It feels amazing to win at home"
Les Suprêmes Senior maintained their winning streak, securing their second consecutive national title with a stunning free program on Saturday. Their dynamic and well-executed performance earned them 144.20 points in the free skate, bringing their total score to 223.73. Skating in front of their home crowd added a special significance to their victory.



“It feels great! We’re surrounded by our families and our friends, and it feels amazing to win at home. We love it when people cheer us on as loudly as they did tonight. It gave us a ton of energy!” said co-captains Olivia Di Giandomenico and Julia Bernardo to Skate Canada after their free skate.

Team Nova, also hailing from Quebec, claimed silver with an impressive total of 220.03 points. Nova showcased strong technical elements and a polished style throughout their free program.

Ontario’s NEXXICE finished third with 210.56 points, demonstrating their refined choreography and synchronization. Black Gold (AB/NT/NU) finished 4th with 127.80.

"When we saw our score, we exploded with joy"
In the Junior ISU category, Les Suprêmes Junior delivered a record-breaking performance. After taking the lead in the short program, they solidified their position with an outstanding free program on Thursday, earning a total score of 195.76—the highest ever recorded by a Canadian junior synchronized skating team.

“We’re so excited, not only to have won the gold medal, but also to have broken our own Canadian record. When we saw our final score, we exploded with joy. It feels amazing to win the national championships here at home,” said co-captain Gabriella Musi in an interview with Skate Canada.



NEXXICE Junior (Ontario) delivered a powerful free skate to secure the silver medal with 186.33 points, while Nova Junior (Quebec) claimed bronze with a strong total of 175.83 points. All seven teams in the Junior ISU category showed tremendous growth and talent, making the competition an exciting showcase of synchronized skating.

The weekend’s performances highlighted the strength and progression of synchronized skating in the country. Several Canadian teams will soon compete internationally, showcasing their talent on the world stage. Les Suprêmes Senior will participate in the Dresden Cup in Germany next weekend, followed by the Boston stage of the Challenger Series in early February. The reigning world champions will also head to the Budapest Cup in mid-March as they prepare for the World Championships later this season.
