Russian teams dominate at the Hevelius Cup, stage of the Challenger Series

Team Crystal Ice Junior won the first stage of the Challenger Series in Poland on Friday night, exceeding 200 points! The competition has also started for the Seniors: Team Tatarstan is in the lead, followed by Crystal Ice Senior and Dream Edges from Finland.
The international Hevelius Cup competition continued on Friday with the junior free programs and the senior short programs. Here is what you need to know!
The ranking did not change for the Juniors and remained the same as at the end of the short programs.
Crystal Ice Junior once again presented a very clean program reaching level 4 in five elements (out of 8!) of their program. Their No Hold block and synchronized spins were particularly well executed, receiving a score of 5 by one judge. The Russian team finished with 201.87 for their performance in Poland and the gold medal!
With a little more than 20 points behind, Valley Bay Synchro fought hard and finished the weekend with a nice silver medal (180.72). The Finnish team presented a flawless program in a beautiful interpretation of Carmen.

Representing the USA, Teams Elite is the bronze medalist of this first Challenger Series event. Dressed in colourful costumes, the team scored 111.86 and 169.74 overall for their program.
Fourth place went to another American team, Lexettes, who scored 149.86 overall. The Polish team Ice Fire who was skating at home finished 5th, Illuminettes from the Netherlands 6th and Le Soleil from Poland 7th.

The competition has also started in the seniors, where six teams are fighting for the title, after the withdrawal of the Finnish Lumineers a few days ago.
Team Tatarstan from Russia is leading the competition after the short programs with 80.28 points. Their compatriots Crystal Ice are currently 2nd with 7 points behind (72.53) and Dream Edges Senior 3rd with 70.59.
The competition continues on Saturday in Poland with the free programs.
