Senior Worlds 2020: "We will know more in the next three weeks"

Philippe Maitrot, Chair of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee, sent a letter to the senior and junior teams who should have participated in the World Championships. He adds that all options are still possible for the postponement of the Senior Worlds.
In a letter sent to all Junior and Senior teams that can't/could not participate in the World Championships, Philippe Maitrot explains that he totally understands "the disappointment you must all feel due to the cancellation of the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2020 and the disruptions to the ISU World Junior Synchronized Championships 2020". Several teams had not taken part in the event following the spread of the Covid-19.
Disappointment felt by all
"A World Championships is the grand finale of a season to which many hours of planning, training and effort have been invested. Not having the opportunity to participate leaves something unfinished and is a disappointment we all share," the Chair of the ISU Technical Committee continues.
Philippe Maitrot appreciates the "flexibility and support of the special measures" put in place to enable completion of the ISU Junior Worlds 2020. However, he regrets that "the impact of not having France, Italy, Japan, Spain and the United States able to fully participate was felt by all".
Disappointment felt by all

About the cancellation of the ISU Senior Worlds that would be organized in a few days in Lake Placid, Philippe Maitrot notes that "the safety and health of our Athletes, Parents, Officials, Volunteers and fans is our priority. Right now, the most important thing is each other".
What about the postponement of the 2020 Senior Worlds?
"It can be an option. In the next three weeks, we will know more about what is possible to do. All ISU seminars, meetings, have been cancelled until August for all disciplines", Philippe Maitrot answers to Jura Synchro.

In the letter to the teams, the Chair of the ISU Technical Committee took also the opportunity to wish all health, safety, and he hopes "to get through this time together".
