These teams won the Golden Ticket!

Canada got its 2020 representatives at the World Junior Championships in March. Finishing first and second respectively at Winterfest, the Quebec team Les Suprêmes and Nexxice from Ontario won the famous "world ticket" on Saturday evening. Even with great scores, Nova Junior will still have to wait. In the Senior division, Les Suprêmes claimed the gold title after an intense competition.
The competition took a brief break for the Junior and Senior free program practices. Several audience members were present as they anticipated some sneak peaks of the program and a preview for the evening.
The Open event dazzled the crowd with their unique lifts and popular music selections. Nexxice Open did not disappoint, skating to a rendition of Billie Eilish, they took first in their first performance with 52.43 points. Close behind is Nova, making a return to the open category. They scored 52.10. Third place belongs to Les Pirouettes from Laval (44.80).
Nova rose from fourth to claim the gold medal position (97.30) and Golding Ice took silver (95.42). Leaders after the first skate, Gold Ice- took bronze (92.12).
Les Suprêmes took gold and were named Team Canada 1 (184.96). Nexxice took silver and the title of Canada 2 with their royals themed program. They rounded out the competition with 171.32. Bronze belonged to Nova who skated a powerful performance with a few unfortunate mistakes (147.08).
Les Suprêmes made a strong return to Winterfest, winning the event with 229.19 points. Silver medalists, Nova skated a beautiful program to the theme of “Fly”, scoring 227.61 to keep themselves in the mix for a spot to 2020 Worlds in Lake Placid.
Nexxice took bronze with their statue theme program scoring 218.31. The next time all three teams meet will be at the Canadian Championships in February, where the national team will be determined based on the result of the competition, and the input from a selection committee.
