After winning the gold medal last Saturday in Waterloo, the skaters of Nova Senior (CAN) answer our questions. The young team from Quebec won for the first time the Canadian championship last weekend. Let's look back on this incredible competition with two skaters of the team.

You're skating only your third season in Seniors and you became Canadian champions. How do you feel?
Laurence Darveau and Tessa Sarret (Nova Senior): We are so proud of this achievement! Hard work well rewarded! We share this moment with all the skaters who have been part of this process over the past years! The solidarity of our team makes us live this moment today!

How do you analyze your two performances this weekend in Waterloo?
In one word... we would say solid! We knew we had to make two performances without any mistake in order to carve out a place for the Worlds! We can say: "mission accomplished"!

In your opinion, what made the difference?
For us, this is our mental preparation! We knew that the game was played at the end of the week! We had to manage the emotions, keep our control and skate as we know how to do it!

The competition was very tough. You have shown a very steel mind!
Yes! We can say a big thank you to Véronique Richard for that! She prepared us well!

How have been these last weeks of preparation for you?
Since our return from Austria (Mozart Cup), we have made a "focus" on us to make sure we do not leave points on the table!

You have qualified for the first time in your history for the World Championships in Finland. What's your reaction?
Proud... very proud! We have demonstrated that with a lot of will, determination, passion and many hours of hard work we can do it! We are proud that Canada has three great teams! It raises the calibre in Canada and it drives us all to be better!

Now, how are you preparing for the Worlds?
We left some points on the table at the Canadian Championships! We are going back home to make sure that we will present two programs with all the technical requirements. Then, we polish the details and we work to achieve perfection! All the little details count and will make the difference!!

Laurence and Tessa... one the last word?
THANK YOU!!!! To all the people who were in the stands at the Canadian Championships (we were entitled to a whole crowd!!). It really brought us to the top! Thank you to our family and friends who share this moment with us! Thank you to our coach who is the conductor of this masterpiece! Without her, none of this would be possible! And thank you to all the people who work with us! We have an exceptional multi-disciplinary team! It is thanks to everyone's work that all this is realized!
We look forward to representing Canada in Finland!
