The Quebec Regional Championships (CAN) is the most-awaited event of the season. Let’s come back to this event.

After 3 long days of competition, synchro teams from Quebec have performed on the ice of Sherbrooke, in Estrie, a region of Quebec.

On Friday, at 3 PM, Beginners I and II were the first skaters to present their program in front of the technical panel. Two teams were engaged in Beginners I. The gold has been taken by Golding Ice (9.37 points), and just behind finished the team Nova (9.34 points). Four teams competed at the Beginners II level. Golding Ice earned again the gold with 10.73 points, followed by Fines Lames and Mistral.

After their performances, the youngest skaters were offered the opportunity to watch the 13 Elementary teams performing their 1st program.

On Saturday, the competition has been full of surprises.

In the Elementary division, Évolution moved up from the 4th to the 1st place and won the competition. Cassiopée team maintained its 2nd place and Éclypses who played Peter Pan and his Tinker Bells finished at the 3rd place.

In the Juvenile category, the competition brought together six teams. The podium has been won by Nova, then Les Suprêmes took the silver medal and Golding Ice the bronze one.

With a program on Alice in Wonderland, Les Rythmiks won the Pre-Novice event. At the second place: Les Éclypses from Lanaudière. Les Ailes d’Argent, representing Mont?Laurier placed 3rd.

Teams who competed in Intermediate, Open, Novices and Senior categories had the opportunity to skate their program twice (on Saturday and Sunday).

For some teams, this competition was already the last one in the season. Others have still competitions in Ontario or in Trois-Rivières next March.

This competition was also the last chance for the teams to qualify for the Canadian championships. So, after the results, Les Pirouettes, Les Suprêmes, Nova, Les Rythmiks and Évolution won their tickets to the Nationals. This competition will take place from 24 to 25 February in Calgary, more than 4,5 hours by plane.
