Triple world champions in 2022, 2023 and 2024, Les Supremes Senior (CAN) team is starting this new 2024-2025 season with enthusiasm and why not win world gold once again. Marilyn Langlois, head coach, shares behind the scenes of their preparation.

“The team is doing very well,” begins Marilyn Langlois, one of the team’s main coaches. This year, 16 experienced skaters are ready to start the competition season, accompanied by 6 new athletes. In the team, four international skaters also enrich the team: Jana (from Switzerland), Rikako (from Japan), as well as Lillian and Makenna (from the United States).

Can you tell us about your programs this year? What can the public expect?

Marilyn Langlois: "We want the public to feel our programs are full of passion and emotion. Every year, we try to renew our way of creating connections in order to highlight the musicality and the quality of skating of our athletes."

What are your main deadlines this season?

"We will be in Woodstock, Ontario for a national competition in early December. Then our Nationals will be held in Laval, Quebec in January and we will continue with the Dresden Cup in Germany and Boston as a Challenger Series."

What are you working on at the moment?

"Following our first competition, we are working on solidifying our technical levels and are incorporating different artistic nuances."

Do you have any new developments in your coaching or training this season?

"No major changes, however we are working on developing the best possible recipe with the addition of new athletes to the team. Each season is different and we must refine and continue to adapt and improve our plans."

This season, Les Suprêmes will present a short program on "La Bohème" and a free program called "Human".
What about the Junior team?

The reigning junior world champions, Les Suprêmes Junior, are welcoming a French skater this year. The junior team is also starting the season strong. “They put in two great performances to start the season,” Marilyn Langlois points out. In fact, the team collected a total score of 175.79 for its two programs during its first competition in mid-November.

With evident potential, they are poised to follow in the Senior team’s footsteps.
