U.S. fans and skaters, get ready to travel, because Nationals and Sectionals locations have been announced!
The competition will be held in the Whittemore Center Arena, a beautiful multi-purpose facility located on the University of New Hampshire's campus. The rink has never hosted sectionals, but has hosted major events such as the NCAA Women's Frozen Four three times since 2002. Furthermore, it seats up to 7,500 fans, meaning that there's plenty of room for fans throughout the arena.
In the same weekend as Easterns (Jan. 18-20), the Pacific coast teams will be hitting the west coast in Irvine, California!
This host rink, Great Park Ice, will host the teams and is no stranger to the synchronized skating world. The facility has four sheets of ice (indoors) which allows plenty of ice for various unofficial practices throughout the weekend.
The facility has hosted various competitions throughout the synchro season, including the Synchro Fall Classic and the previous CS California Cup.
The competition will be held at INTRUST Bank Arena, which is the second-largest arena in Kansas. The 15,000-plus seat arena is the home to numerous college and semi-professional sports, including the Wichita Thunder. According to INTRUST Bank Arena's website, "[the competition] will generate more than $2.7 million in local economic impact".
Meanwhile, teams will find themselves practicing at the Wichita Ice Center, located just four minutes from the competition. The facility features two sheets of ice, including one Olympic-sized sheet of ice and one NHL-sized.
For the first time ever, the 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on Feb. 21-24. This is the second time since 1990 that Nevada has hosted the competition. The Orleans Arena, a 9,500-seat arena, is located in the Las Vegas Valley, meaning that there will be plenty of lodging around the arena. Furthermore, Orleans Arena is no stranger to figure skating, as it hosted Skate America in 2021.
