The Japanese national competition kicks off on 18 February 2023 in Nagano city of central Japan. On the first day of the competition we saw Jingu Ice Messengers Junior and Senior teams performing their Short Programs.

After their international premiere at Mozart Cup, Jingu Ice Messengers worked hard to polish their programs to showcase their best to the Japanese audience.

The day started with a brief but solemn opening ceremony.  The Junior team first took the ice and performed their "Incredibles" themed program. Despite the two falls, they were happy to improve a few more points from Mozart Cup and obtained 39.09.

The Senior team then took the ice.

Dressed in beautiful flower dresses to echo the Japanese TV drama series “Hanamoyu” which their SP is based on, they skated with no major fault and scored 54.82, which is slightly less than their Mozart Cup score (56.20).
