The International Skating Union (ISU) has revealed a list of bidders for the synchro Worlds for the 2024/2025 season. Three European cities are in the race.

The cities of Tampere in Finland, Budapest in Hungary and Courmayeur in Italy have applied to host the World Synchronized Skating Championships in April 2025! The ISU announced this today in a press release.

Budapest has already hosted the event twice, in 2008 and 2016. For Courmayeur, this would be the 2nd time. The last time the Worlds were held in Italy was in 2014.

However, three World Championships have already been held in Finland (in 2001, 2011 and 2019), but Helsinki has always hosted the competition.

That would be the first time for Tampere, a city located a bit further north, about 2 hour drive from the capital. Note that Tampere (FIN) has also announced that it will also be ready to host the competition in 2026.

Fewer candidates for the Juniors
For the World Junior Championships, the situation is different. After Angers in France in 2023, no application seems to have been made for the following events.
