After a year of absence because of Covid, the French Cup is back. It is a first in Europe: the teams can finally perform in front of an audience. Before the free programs, here are the actual top 3 teams in each category!

Elite 12
The new Elite 12 category opened the event on Friday afternoon at the Ile Lacroix ice rink in Rouen. The three Elite 12 teams competed only with the Free Skating that followed the current technical requirements for the Senior category.

The Hayden Select team (USA) won the gold medal after a smooth and emotional free program on a cover of "Show Must Go On". This stunning performance earned them a score of 112.17.

Team Jeanne D'Arc, skating at home, also presented a very clean program to the famous music of "Requiem for a Dream" and won silver with a total of 90.89, their best score of the season! Finally, United 12 (NED), closed this category with a total of 82.89.

Junior ISU
Then it was the turn of the ISU Juniors, and once again, the USA took the lead. Indeed, Teams Elite won gold in the short programs thanks to a dynamic performance that seduced the public on the very original theme "Ouija". The program brought them a very nice score of 71.15.

Despite two falls, the Dream Edges (FIN) took second place with a very high total of 65.08.

The bronze went to the Polish team Team Ice Fire who skated to an intense song by Lady Gaga. A great first for this team, who managed to obtain 51.26 points.

Senior ISU
The fans of the Helsinki Rockettes (FIN) created a great atmosphere when the skaters arrived. This team won first place in the short program (81.71) thanks to a very intense performance of "Femme Fatale," which conquered the whole audience.

The Finnish team is followed by the Skyliners (USA), who opened the competition. Wearing glittering outfits, they obtained a score of 75.62 and placed 2nd on Friday night.

Team Passion from Hungary set the rink on fire with a dynamic program to David Guetta's "Bang Bang" and won over the judges with a score of 61.64.

A major event for the French teams
Note that this competition is very important for the three French teams.
Having been unable to attend the French Championships last December due to several cases of Covid, it was decided that the national titles would be awarded in this competition.

As a result, the Junior team Zazous took the lead in the junior ranking with 39.31 followed by the Black Diam's (33.99) who skated to Daft Punk.

In the Senior division, Les Zoulous performed on Friday an African-theme short program. The team presented a very clean program that brought them a score of 55.42 and the provisional 4th place.
