For the past few days, Dream Edges Senior has been concentrating especially on their short program. And for a good reason, this brand new Finnish team will make its debut this weekend at its first international competition.

A fifth team in Finland
Coached by Siiri Eskelinen, Sini Lagercrantz and Tiina Turunen, Dream Edges Senior is the 5th Senior ISU team in Finland. The reputation of this team is already excellent as its junior team has already proven itself by winning the Finnish National Championship in 2019 and finishing 4th at the Junior Worlds that same year.

2.5 months
After a relaxing and enjoyable warm summer in Finland, Dream Edges Senior resumed training at the end of July with an intensive camp in Kisakallio, where the athletes started working on their short program for the first time. "Now, after 2.5 months, our short program is as ready as it will be for the first competition," said the team.

"Prodigy"
"Prodigy", the name of the very first Dream Edges Senior's short program. "It tells the story of a child genius who's tired of people underestimating their abilities and intelligence. Frustration easily takes over when every task given seems just a bit too easy. Maybe a bit of rebellion is just what's needed."

20 skaters
The number of skaters in Dream Edges Senior for this first season. The team is training in Kaarina, a town of just over 34,000 inhabitants located in the Southwest Finland region, not far from Turku. Several other synchro teams skate in the same club: Dream Edges Junior (of course), but also Diamond Edges, Golden Edges or Vintage Edges.

Finlandia Trophy
Dream Edges Senior's very first senior competition! "We are super excited! This is a very well-known international competition; thus, it is a dream come true to perform and compete there for the first time with our new team," the athletes explained.

"Romance"
The name of their free program. "As we said in our Instagram post: love belongs to everyone. Synchronized skating is the only discipline in figure skating in which it is possible to tell different kinds of love stories, not just the one between a man and a woman. That is why our free skate "Romance" will tell the love story of two women."

Season's goals
"We want to enjoy every competition and do our very best each time. As a new team, we won’t have any expectations or stress about fulfilling certain goals. We hope that this season will be full of excitement, laughter and new opportunities," said the team.

Two Challenger Series events
Do you want to see Dream Edges Senior competing this upcoming season? Note that the team is planning to participate in the Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland, and the Challenger series event in Norwood, USA.
