Finland has finally qualified two teams during Nationals

After an exciting weekend full of drama, the Finnish champions are finally settled. Dream Edges won the Junior division and Marigold Ice Unity is the champion in the Senior category. Together with MIU, Team Unique will represent Finland at the World Championships in April even if Helsinki Rockettes are 2018 national vice-champions.

Big trill this weekend in Finland. On Saturday, the senior and junior best teams have shown their best in Helsinki during the short programs and the scores are very close. The big tension is the senior division because, at the end of the weekend, we’ll know which teams will represent Finland at the 2018 World Championships. The Novice division competed also on Saturday. 

The Finnish TOP 3 coaches invited for a TV interview

The upcoming competition in Finland next weekend interests many people in the country. So the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) invited the three top synchro coaches Kaisa Arrateig, Anu Oksanen, and Mirjami Penttinen to the studio last Thursday morning. They discussed about the Nationals, the coaching, the teamwork of the Finnish top teams and what are Finland´s strengths compared especially to Russia’s teams.

Finnish Nationals will be held this weekend

Next Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd and 4th, the best 27 Finnish synchronized skating teams will assemble in Helsinki Ice Rink to the winners of the season.  The skaters will compete in three categories: novices, juniors, and seniors.


Finland prepares the 1st qualifications with a new regulation

The Finnish Figure Skating Association has decided to change the criteria of qualification for the Synchronized Skating World Championships. The junior and senior teams in Finland are concerned.
