Canada got its 2020 representatives at the World Junior Championships in March. Finishing first and second respectively at Winterfest, the Quebec team Les Suprêmes and Nexxice from Ontario won the famous "world ticket" on Saturday evening. Even with great scores, Nova Junior will still have to wait. In the Senior division, Les Suprêmes claimed the gold title after an intense competition.

Winterfest day two was off to an early start, with the Intermediate second skate. The result did not differ from the first skate - with Golding Ice claiming gold (106.49), Nexxice won silver (100.88) and Evolution was bronze (93.96).

The competition took a brief break for the Junior and Senior free program practices. Several audience members were present as they anticipated some sneak peaks of the program and a preview for the evening.

The next event was the Juvenile championship. Juvenile skaters are under 13 years of age and skate once at each competition. The event began with a brief power outage in the rink, delaying the event by over 40 minutes. That did not stop the first team, Nexxice from giving a flawless and entertaining performance, capturing gold (33.30). Golding Ice claimed their second medal of the event- a silver (30.94) and bronze went to Les Éclypses de Maribel (30.46).

The Open event dazzled the crowd with their unique lifts and popular music selections. Nexxice Open did not disappoint, skating to a rendition of Billie Eilish, they took first in their first performance with 52.43 points. Close behind is Nova, making a return to the open category. They scored 52.10. Third place belongs to Les Pirouettes from Laval (44.80).
The Novice championship event rounded out the afternoon.

Nova rose from fourth to claim the gold medal position (97.30) and Golding Ice took silver (95.42). Leaders after the first skate, Gold Ice- took bronze (92.12).
