Budapest Cup, one of the last competitions before the Worlds

The Russian Team Paradise, Team Nova from Sweden and Team Junost (RUS) are the 2018 Budapest Cup champions in the ISU categories. In the Non-ISU divisions, the Mixed Age was a great success. The competition took place last weekend in the Hungarian capital.

In the Novice Advanced division, Team Junost from Russia won the competition with a total of 53.59 points. Team Shadows (GBR) and Team Skating Graces from Germany finished with the exact same score of 48.32 points. Team Karisma from Sweden placed 4th with 46.62 points.



Nine teams were competing in the Junior ISU category. The Swedish Team Nova earned the gold medal with the comfortable score of 126.96 points. Team Icicles (GBR) was the silver medallist (114.92) and the Czech Team Darlings finished with the bronze title (104.70). Teams from Poland, Netherlands, Italy, and Hungary completed the rankings.



The Senior ISU division was exciting and gathered 12 teams from 10 different countries. The 2017 World Champions Team Paradise impressed the audience with two clean programs even if the team had a fall at the end of the short program in the No Hold Element (208.14).

Team Surprise from Sweden also presented two great performances but had also a fall in the free program during the first intersection. The team received a total of 195.52 points and finished 2nd. At the third place, Team Berlin 1, the German champions. The team got the bronze medal with a total of 171.90 points. 



Note also that the Mixed Age category was a complete success this year. 21 teams were competing in this division. The podium was completely German with United Angels, Butterfl’Ice and Munich Synergy. Two Italian teams placed 4th and 5th. New countries like Ukraine or Georgia were also represented in this division. Team Fire Arrows (UKR) and Team Ice Lions Batumi finished respectively 12th and 13th. A great start!
