Juuli: "This is our first competition of the season and it is a good beginning. We did the two programs well. There were some mistakes but we are proud of ourselves."

Petra: "We have trained a lot, but it is the beginning of the season. Shanghai Trophy is our first competition and we are proud of what we did. We have shown our new programs to the big audience in Shanghai and we are happy to be here."

Aida: "Shanghai Trophy is also the first competition for Team Berlin 1 and we showed our new programs, which were built just one month ago. So I am very proud of our team and the result. And it is a good experience to be here in China."

As we look further into the new season, Juuli and Petra were asked how they were preparing for the 2025 World Championships, which will take place in their own city in April 2025.

Juuli: "We will keep training hard and having fun. We continue enjoying skating and trying our best in training and competitions."
Petra: "Of course hard work, and as Juuli said, we will try our best in every competition and performance. But firstly we will enjoy every moment with team because when we enjoy it we are doing our best."

Team Berlin 1's Aida then explained to journalists why her team was so keen on the Shanghai Trophy.

Aida: "We really enjoyed skating here in the last season, which was the second time we came to China. The first time was in 2016. Since then we tried to return to this competition.

Shanghai Trophy is a special event where we enjoyed meeting other disciplines. We wanted to start the season as early as possible and Shanghai Trophy is the first opportunity for us to take part in a competition. So we decided to come here. We also found the competition well organized, such as hotel, transportation, and press conference which is not arranged in every competition. We thank the organizing committee for this event."
