The Metro Espoo Arena (Finland) prepares to welcome the 2017 Finlandia Trophy from 6-8 October. This competition marks an important moment for the synchro teams because this is the first occasion to present their short programs. This is what you have to expect.

This season, the vice Senior World Champions 2017 Marigold Ice Unity chose to keep up with the Finnish spirit in their short program. «In this season's short program we further continue the celebration of the centenary year of Finland. Sorrow, longing, pain of losing. Looking to the distance. Confidence about surviving and things becoming better. A strong woman will withstand difficult trials without giving up», wrote the team. Marigold Ice Unity will skate to the traditional Finnish song ”Under the Northern Star”. Fans will discover this season a short program full of melancholy and perseverance.

This will be also the first competition for Team Unique. The skaters will present this year a short and emotional program onto a unique music. Jan Nyberg, the husband of an old skater, composed the music especially for the team. Far from Colorado Springs last season, this will be a new kick off for Team Unique who will try to qualify this year for the Worlds Championships.

The atmosphere will be more exotic with the Rockettes. «This season's short program brings out an unexpected character of a wild cat animal but also reveals it’s innocent side. Our powerful and energetic short program theme is… Tiger!», announced the team. 5th at the last World Championships after an unfortunate free program, Rockettes are ready this season to compete at the highest level.

Everybody is waiting for them… the skaters of new team Lumineers. This local team from Espoo called their short program « Pressure Creates Diamonds », it’s gonna shine in the Metro Arena.
