Skate Canada announced the cancellation of the 2022 Skate Canada Synchro Classic. This stage of the Challenger Series should have taken place in Brampton, Ontario, from December 9-11, 2022.

Why this cancellation?
"As an ISU Challenger event, a minimum of five international teams from four different nations are required. Unfortunately, due to higher costs associated with travel, teams found travel to North America cost prohibitive," explained Skate Canada in a press release.

Skate Canada has also indicated that the Canadian teams registered for this event "can participate in the Synchro Series #2 for Senior, Junior, Open, Intermediate (Gold), Novice, Pre-Novice (STAR 8), and Juvenile (STAR 6) athletes, hosted by Skate Ontario at the same location from December 9-11, 2022."

The other Challenger Series legs have been maintained for the time being. They will take place in Europe in January and February. Discover the list of events here!

On its side, For its part, Skate Canada said it is looking forward to hosting another ISU Challenger Series event in the future.
